[ægnu:] [ˊspi:rǝu] Агню, Спиро (р. 1918), политический деятель. В 1968 и 1972 гг. избирался вице-президентом США (вместе с президентом Ричардом Никсоном). Резко критиковал противников участия США во вьетнамской войне, называя их «скопищем изнеженных бесстыжих снобов» [‘an effete corps of impudent snobs']. В 1973, обвинённый в уклонении от уплаты налогов, вынужден был уйти в отставку
